Jodianne Carter, M.D.

Dr. Jodianne Carter graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1986 as Valedictorian and as a National Merit Scholar. She went on to the University of Missouri at Kansas City’s six year medical program where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry with Distinction in 1991 and her Doctor of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Carter was also the recipient of the Janet M. Glasgow American Medical Women’s Association Scholarship Achievement Citation. She then completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at UMKC in 1993 and a Ophthalmology Residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. She practiced in Auburn, Alabama for 5 years prior to joining Heart of America Eye Care in 2001.

Her practice encompasses small incision cataract surgery, specialty intraocular lenses for astigmatism and presbyopia, the medical and surgical care of glaucoma, and comprehensive eye care for children and adults. She sees patients at both the Shawnee Mission and Overland Park offices.

Dr. Carter is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.
