How Is Low Vision Rehabilitation Performed?
When diagnosing an individual with low vision, we will first perform a low vision assessment, which can take an hour or more. This exam includes:
- Goal setting
- Vision assessment
- Glare/lighting assessment
- Contrast sensitivity improvement
- Magnification needs
- Orientation and mobility training referrals
We may also provide you with or suggest that you get a low vision device, such as optical vision aids (magnifiers or telescopes), autofocus eyewear, magnified or oversized computer monitors and keyboards, voice-command phones and tablets, and more.
